Kakiniit

Kakiniit is the art of Inuit tattooing and its learning is passed down from generation to generation. In the Inuit culture, getting tattooed can carry several significant achievements, one of which is the mastering of a new skill. Tattoos, therefore, imply a double meaning: on one hand, they represent a form of work for those who master this art, on the other the tattoos themselves become symbolic of a person's own mastered form of work.
